Bubbly Female Lead Leading Double Life:
Park Seong Ah (Cho Yi Hun) is an average high school student during the day and a gifted shaman at night. Although raised by her adoptive shaman mother, Park Seong Ah is naturally gifted with spiritual energy making her the most powerful and sought after Shaman. However her fellow classmates who is not aware of her double life, thinks of her as on oddball and chides her. Seong Ah’s life lits up one day when she falls in love at first sight with Bae Gyun Ho (Choo Young Woo) who walks into her shrine with his grandmother. On realizing that Bae Gyun Ho is cursed with misfortune and his days are numbered , Seong Ah vows to herself to protect his life at all costs. Coincidentally he joins the same class as her, as a transfer student and Seong Ah does everything in her power to ward off the evil spirits that seem to surround Gyun Ho wherever he goes.

Male Lead with Misfortune :
Unlike the usual K-drama tropes where the lead is either too arrogant and intelligent or too shy and quiet, “Head Over Heels” has a flawed male lead who is born with misfortune. Bae Gyun Ho(Choo Young Woo) is a high school student with love and talent for archery. Due to an unfortunate accident he is forced to transfer. Because of his cursed fate he becomes aloof and wary to make friends. He despises Shamans deeply, because of his shamanic mother who abandoned him and also because his grandmother had spent an entire fortune on rituals and amulets to protect him. Although Seong Ah’s continuous hovering around him annoyed him initially,he gradually takes a liking for her warm and sweet personality not knowing her hidden identity.

Intriguing Plot:
Last but not least, the main plot of the story with a mix of mystery, scary ghosts ,comedy and romance is what makes this drama engaging. Seong Ah’s attempts to keep the evil spirts at bay and the mystery surrounding the notorious shaman and Gyun Ho’s long lost mother Yeom Hwa adds to the intrigue. Inspite of this drama being part fantasy(ghosts) and high school, the chemistry between the leads is just sizzling!
