Indian Television is currently high on the ” Hum do and Hamare bich ek” concept. Almost all the shows on TV have a love triangle. Almost all the shows are showing two women fighting for one man, or a man is falling for both the sisters. However, in every situation, a woman is blaming the other woman whereas the man is getting a free pass. Be it the wife or the other female are busy competing with each other, constantly trying to uplift themselves and downgrade the other and the man is projected as the victim or he is having an easy walk out. Sometimes the husband is suddenly realising his love for his wife and the blame is obviously on the person he was in love with till last night.
Well we bring you the top five such love triangles of the currently running top television show. These shows have the love triangle as the main theme and are topping the charts like a cake walk. Let’s have a look at those couples on Indian television.
Anupama :
Let’s start with the most popular show on television in recent times. Anupama, the story is about a housewife whose world revolves around her husband and kids and she takes anything thrown at her from her husband and kids as she is the ideal daughter-in-law, wife and mother. But in spite of performing every possible responsibility her husband gets involved with another person. Kavya on the other hand, is a modern educated and self dependent woman. Honestly one of the most progressive characters of the show in the initial days. However due to the sake of a love triangle, Kavya is being objectified as a homewrecker while Anupama is blamed for not being sufficient enough to keep her husband to herself. To make it worse, Anupama’s daughter continues to support her father in spite of knowing what he did to her mother. Currently Anupama is single and trying to move on while Kavya is in a race to prove herself worthy of Anupama while Vanraj is being given free passes by his family. Recently, Actor Gaurav Khanna entered the show ‘Anuj Kapadia” who will play the role of her love interest in the upcoming days.
Imlie –
Imlie, a show which is supposed to put light on the struggle of a girl who is from a village but not literate. It was about her dreams and her struggle to make them a reality so that she can give her mother a better life. Aditya Kumar Tripathi, a character who claimed to be moralistic, truthful and loyal towards his work and his commitments. Malini, fiance of Aditya was a college professor and a doting life partner one can die to have. However, this show showcased two extra marital affairs but in both the cases, the victim is being shamed. Malini who was the sweetest, sensible and a self dependent lady turned out to be an obsessive, toxic and an abuser of the lowest form so that the audience is left with no choice but to like Aditya and Imlie as life partners. Currently Malini trapped Aditya and made a scenario where he is found guilty of sleeping with her and now she will fake a pregnancy too. Again two women who are highly ambitious and promising fight to get Aditya in their life.
Udaariyaan :
This show can literally make you go completely wondering how on earth this is possible in any Indian society in general. The story was about two sisters who are so close to each other and can do anything to keep the other person happy. The show started with Tejo being trapped in a fake marriage with an NRI who robbed her off and fled. However, Fateh and Jasmine are in a love relationship and Jasmine wants to get married to someone who can take her to Canada Post marriage. Fateh, knowing the intentions of Jasmine, was trying his best to get a job through the Canada embassy. However things didn’t work out the way they had planned and Fateh gets married to Tejo when Jasmine ditched him in the dias of marriage. after marriage, Jasmine realised that she cannot live without Fateh and Fateh gets involved in extra marital affairs with his sister-in-law while continuing to behave like a husband with Tejo. Recently, Tejo gets to know about their relationship and now the track is about Fateh realising he is in love with Tejo actually and Jasmine being the worst form of sister to Tejo for a man.
Bhagya Lakshmi :
Even the loyal fans of the show will agree that they hardly expected that shock from Rishi after having such a beautiful build up to the initial love story. Rishi who appeared to be a caring and doting boyfriend and husband even till the marriage ritual completes turned out to be a cheater who had a love affair with Malishka. He married Lakshmi so that he can get rid off the fault in his stars and then he will marry Malishka while Lakshmi in spite of knowing the reality of her husband and calling him out is continuing to be an ideal wife who will protect her husband at any cost and will not speak a word against him. However, Rishi is now falling in love with Lakshmi but he is not understanding it but continues to say I love you to Malishka. Soon, we will see Malishka and Lakshmi will be at loggerheads directly to get Rishi in their life while Rishi will be that good husband who gets carried away by a woman.
Kumkum Bhagya :
We really don’t know what is the exact problem in this show because it seems like writers can never let Pragya and Abhi live peacefully even for one week. The show has one of the longest runs on television, and is still going strong both in the TRP charts and also online. However, the love story of Pragya and Abhi always had a haddi called Tanu. Not only that, this show literally crossed all the possible limits to which a third angle can go to create problems between two lovers or husband and wife. Pragya and Abhi are still struggling to lead a peaceful and happy life with each other. Tanu and Pragya literally lived in the same house and under the same roof and no one can do anything about it. Tanu kept poking her nose in every family matter of Pragya and Abhi and she was heard. Not only that, the longest running pregnancy record also remains with Tanu and then she had a miscarriage just to portray Pragya wrong. This legacy is continued into their kids’ lives also where Prachi and Riya fall for the same person and Riya is ready to do anything to get rid of Prachi.
Well, it will call for a serious investigation to find out what exactly attracts the audience towards such tracks and storylines. Not only them but the youth also get invested in these shows and cheer for the couple while blaming the other woman forgetting the fact that it takes two to tango.
