By Gossips TV : Television actor Zain Imam has landed in controversy after a social media message linked to him sparked strong reactions online. The actor faced backlash after urging Indians to pick sides amid the ongoing tensions involving Iran, Israel and the United States.
The controversy began when Zain Imam reposted a message referencing the escalating tensions around Iran. The post surfaced during intense online discussions following reports of airstrikes in Tehran and claims circulating online about the killing of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. The message also mentioned Sanjay Raut, who had earlier described Khamenei as a friend of India during past crises including the India–Pakistan conflicts.
Soon after the post circulated online, many users criticised the actor and questioned his stance. Several social media users accused Zain Imam of hypocrisy and pointed to his earlier positions during sensitive issues.
Many users recalled that during the 2025 Pahalgam terror attack, which claimed the lives of 26 tourists, Zain had urged people to avoid escalating tensions and called for stopping a potential war against Pakistan. At that time, he largely maintained a neutral tone and appealed for peace.
Critics also brought up his earlier comments opposing a ban on Pakistani artists in India, noting that he had indirectly supported allowing them to continue working in the country.
Now, with the actor asking Indians to take a clear stand on the Iran-related conflict, several fans and social media users labelled the stance contradictory. Many called him a hypocrite for staying neutral during a domestic tragedy while urging people to take sides on an international geopolitical issue.
As screenshots of the message spread across platforms like X, the backlash continued to grow, with some users expressing anger and disappointment. At the time of writing, Zain Imam has not publicly issued a detailed clarification regarding the post or the backlash that followed.
