By Anil Merani: The sudden end of Abhishek Bajaj’s anticipated return to television, Jubilee Talkies – Shohrat Shiddat Mohabbat (Sony TV), has thrown a wrench in his TV return plans.
Abhishek, who made a transition from television (Parvarrish – Kuchh Khattee Kuchh Meethi Dil De Ke Dekho) to films (Student Of The Year 2 and Chandigarh Ki Aashiqi but couldn’t find his footing,) had hoped to make a successful return to television. However, the closure of Jubilee Talkies-Shohrat Shiddat Mohabbat has left his career in a state of uncertainty.
However, the abrupt closure of a show within three months does not bode well for its co-stars. Even Abhishek’s co-star, Khushi Dubey, may face the consequences in her career.
Jubilee Talkies opened at very poor 0.1 good shows on the channel, got 0.4-0.6 TVR
Had Jubilee Talkies show worked, it would have opened a new vista for Abhishek, but now it will be back to the drawing board.
Sadly, the show never piqued the interest of the online crowd, so there is no saving grace.
Abhishek’s personal life could be better. His girlfriend, Donal Bisht, called time on their relationship last year.
Once you move out of TV, a lot of fresh talent takes your place, and returning becomes a challenge. Plus, out here, past success only matters if your character or show is iconic
It is never wrong to harbour big dreams, but sometimes they don’t work out, and you have to pay the price.
He still might get work as he is a good actor but needs to compromise daily.
The fact that he decided to come to TV means his film and OTT career was never taking off as well.
