By Gossips TV : The casting of Balaji Telefilms’ upcoming digital show Ishq Dum Aur Idli Rasam has now been finalised, bringing clarity after weeks of speculation. Abhishek Kumar has officially been locked in for the male lead, ending ongoing discussions around multiple names linked to the role earlier.
Industry buzz had previously suggested actors like Shoaib Ibrahim and Vivek Dahiya were being considered. However, the makers have now moved ahead with Abhishek, citing his growing popularity and steady connection with audiences across formats. His recent visibility and versatility are believed to have played a key role in the final decision.
He will be seen opposite Shiny Doshi, who was already confirmed as the female lead. The pairing is expected to bring a fresh dynamic to the narrative, with both actors carrying strong television recall. The show is backed by Balaji Telefilms’ digital arm and has already begun production in Mumbai.
The project also marks a notable step for Surbhi Chandna, who turns producer with this venture. With filming underway, the series is shaping up to be a significant addition to the platform’s upcoming slate.
Abhishek Kumar rose to prominence with Udaariyaan, where his performance gained attention, and later expanded his reach through reality television. His addition to this project signals a continued upward trajectory, positioning him in another lead-driven narrative in the digital space.
