Every year, the arrival of Bigg Boss leads to significant changes in the Colors FPC(schedule). 2021 is no different with reports suggesting shows going off-air or getting shifted to other time slots.
Gul Khan produced Namak Isak Ka is the first casualty, while there is uncertainty regarding the fate of long-running Rashmi Sharma eunuch themed property Shakti. The latter certainly loses its current slot with BalikaVadhu 2 replacing it at 8 pm from 9th Aug.
As per sources, Colors mandarins are mulling over whether to shut Shakti or move it to the early evening 6 pm slot. An increased fresh programming lineup also helps the above channel shore up its GRP game, which is a quite behind o market leader STAR Plus.
On the other hand, with Bigg Boss14winner Rubina Dilaik all set to again quit Shakti for her upcoming film with Hiten Tejwani, will the show have enough ballast to stay in the race at six pm? Which, anyway, hardly finds enough audiences.
Apart from Balika, Colors have also dropped the promos of two other upcoming shows, i.e. Thoda Sa Badal,Thoda Sa Pani and Nimma Denzogapa but have not yet gone public with their respective timings. But sources insist that they will take the time slots of Namak and Bawara Dil, respectively, But there is no official confirmation of the latter show’s exit. From the channel point of view, Shakti has been a substantial property that has delivered constantly; hence maybe they might give it a small run in the early evening before calling it a day. A final call regarding Shakti is awaited whispers, our highly informed source.
Shakti began with Vivian Dsena and Rubina back in 2016, but over time both the former leads quit. Cezzane Khan entered Vivian’s shoes in April 2021.
Namak starring Shruti Sharma, never really delivered on the rating front, so it was not surprising that Colors ordered its culling. Shruti has confirmed the ending to the media as well.
On the other hand, there is complete radio silence in the Shakti camp.
Bawra Dil, starring Aditya Redij and Kinjal Dhamecha, did not get much time to improve its lacklustre numbers, having gone on air only in late Feb 2021. Guess the Mumbai lockdown of April/ May this year did not help its case.
However, another school of thought suggests that Colors will retain trust in Shakti and give it 9 pm slot. Nima might premiere at 9.30 pm, replacing Bawra. Unconfirmed buzz further speaks of Thoda Sa Pani airing air at 10.30, bringing an end to Pinjara Khubsurti Ka.
We tried to contact the Colors spokesperson but could not get any revert until the filing of this piece.
