By Anil Merani: The Colors TV show “Mannat Har Khushi Paane Ki, which marked Ayesha Singh’s return to daily TV, initially impressed fans, who appreciated Ayesha’s chemistry with Andana and the overall story. The show debuted in January with a promising first-week rating of 1.8.
However, the show soon started losing its initial momentum, down to 1.2. Several reasons may have contributed to this decline. Fans have expressed their disappointment with the show’s current storyline, feeling that it has deviated from its original promise of a positive, women-empowerment narrative to a darker, more dragged-out plot resembling crime drama.
On the other hand, Ayesha continues to shine. Fan sentiment on platforms like X often praises her acting, with comments highlighting her dialogue delivery, expressions, and overall impact in dramatic scenes. For instance, posts have described her performance as “power-packed” and on point, particularly in emotionally charged episodes.
However, it’s important to note that not all viewers share the same opinion. Some on forums like Reddit have mixed opinions, with a few feeling her portrayal in early episodes came across as overly chirpy or forced, especially in scenes like the train sequence. Others appreciated her vibrant energy as fitting the character. These critiques concern subjective taste rather than a broad consensus on poor performance.
As mentioned above, the show itself has faced criticism for its declining ratings. This could indirectly affect perceptions of Ayesha’s performance, as the narrative direction impacts how her character lands with audiences. Still, her chemistry with co-star Adnan Khan and her ability to carry intense scenes are frequently highlighted as strengths, suggesting she’s delivering for many viewers despite the show’s challenges.
Interestingly, Adnan has also been praised for his solo work, so the makers (Mukta Dhond) have been spot-on with casting. However, if your story is off-kilter, things will go awry no matter who you cast.
