The episode begins with Neel telling Anushka that she married Ayush without divorcing him, which means if he reveals himself, her marriage to Ayush will be deemed illegal, and she will lose all her luxuries. Neel asks Anushka how much money she’s willing to give him. Meanwhile, Ayush returns to his room and finds the door locked, asking Anushka to open it.
Lakshmi goes to the kids’ room, sees Rohan and Parvati in bed, and assumes they are asleep. However, Rohan calls out to her as she’s leaving. Lakshmi asks why he’s still awake, and Rohan replies that he couldn’t sleep. Lakshmi asks if he drank the dry fruit milk, to which Rohan replies no. Lakshmi explains that’s why he couldn’t sleep and offers to get it for him. Parvati also wakes up and asks Lakshmi to bring her some dry fruit milk too. Lakshmi asks why they’re still awake, and Parvati and Rohan reveal they’re planning for Diwali.
Neel asks Anushka to open the door, assuring her not to worry as he will hide from Ayush. Anushka agrees and opens the door for Ayush. Ayush asks her why she didn’t open the door earlier, and Anushka replies that she was adjusting her saree. Ayush mentions that Harleen asked him to bring her medicine. Anushka hands him the medicine, and Ayush leaves. She quickly closes the door.
Rohan and Parvati share their Diwali plans with Lakshmi. She advises them to use as few firecrackers as possible to reduce pollution, and they agree. She then heads to the kitchen to get their dry fruit milk.
Neel appears suddenly in front of Anushka, startling her. She asks if he was trying to scare her, and Neel makes a remark in response. Anushka then asks him what he wants, and Neel prompts her to ask him how much he wants. When she does, Neel demands 25 lakh rupees. Anushka says she doesn’t have that much cash on hand, but Neel insists that she must have it in her bank account. He then asks her to write him a cheque, which she does for 2.5 million rupees. Neel takes the cheque and leaves.
Rishi is shown to be distracted, thinking about Ayush. Lakshmi notices and asks what’s on his mind. Rishi explains how Ayush was heartbroken after Shalu joked that she didn’t fast for him on Karwa Chauth. Lakshmi comments that sometimes fate keeps people apart, even if they look good together. Rishi responds, reflecting that even some people who are together may feel distant. Rishi leaves, clearly affected.
As Neel is leaving the Oberoi mansion, he runs into Shalu and accidentally drops the divorce papers. Shalu apologizes and tries to pick them up, but Neel quickly grabs them himself and leaves.
Nine days later, Neelam scolds Master Ji for not delivering the clothes she ordered over the phone. Aanchal asks Neelam what happened, and Neelam complains about Master Ji’s delay. Overhearing their conversation, Malishka tells Neelam not to worry and volunteers to pick up the clothes.
Rishi then finds Lakshmi in the kitchen making sweets for everyone. She tells Rishi she wants everyone to eat homemade sweets, which is why she’s preparing them. Rishi praises her, saying no one can beat her in making sweets. Lakshmi humbly replies that her mother can make even better sweets and reminisces about how her father would eat only her mother’s sweets. Rishi, touched, says he also eats only the sweets made by his wife.
Meanwhile, Sonal approaches Malishka, asking how she looks. Malishka compliments her, saying she looks like a firecracker, and suddenly gets an idea. She tells Sonal that Neelam gave Master Ji the responsibility of making clothes, and Sonal questions Neelam’s choice, given his greed. Malishka replies that they can use Master Ji’s greed to their advantage, and the two leave together, clearly plotting something.
Rishi then says to Lakshmi that he and her father have something in common—they both love their wives very much.
