The episode begins with Rishi asking Lakshmi what she means. Lakshmi tells Rishi that she can no longer use his name as he now has a family. Rano asks Lakshmi what she is talking about. Lakshmi replies that she has broken ties with these false relationships and declares that she will no longer use the Oberoi family name.
Parvati and Rohan return home from school. Lakshmi brings Malpua for Rohan and Parvati. They enjoy eating it as they like it very much.
Rohan and Parvati ask Lakshmi about the kind of project they should make for the science exhibition, which is scheduled for 15 days later. Rishi arrives and tells Rohan that the school principal scolded him. Rohan asks why. Rishi explains that he had requested the principal to allow Rohan to participate in the science exhibition only if he scored good marks. Later, the principal scolded Rishi, saying Rohan is already a bright child. Hearing this, Rohan and Parvati laugh at Rishi. Lakshmi gives Rishi a fake smile and walks away. Rishi follows her.
Rishi asks Lakshmi why she gave him a fake smile. Lakshmi asks Rishi if she cannot give him a fake smile when he can make her fake promises. Rishi tries to touch Lakshmi, but she warns him to stay within his limits. She makes a remark about Rishi and leaves.
The next day, Lakshmi sends Rohan and Parvati to school, reminding them to take care of themselves. They agree and leave. Rishi tries to talk to Lakshmi, but she ignores him. Rishi and Ayush leave for the office.
A month later, Rishi reflects that it has been nearly a month since Kiran’s marriage anniversary, and Lakshmi has not spoken to him properly since then. He also worries as Rohan and Parvati prepare to leave for a foreign country for their project.
Lakshmi is anxious about Rohan and Parvati going abroad for two months. Though reluctant, she decides to let them go for the sake of their future. Neelam advises the children to take care of themselves, and they agree. Rishi takes them to the airport.
Kiran calls Malishka and asks what she is doing. Malishka says she is choosing dresses to visit Sonal’s house. Kiran urges Malishka to come and act like a good mother to make a good impression on Rishi, but Malishka ignores her advice.
Lakshmi prays to God by the roadside. She later shares with Shalu that she has been feeling nauseous lately. Shalu suggests visiting a doctor and goes to call an auto.
Meanwhile, Lakshmi notices an old lady about to be hit by a car. She pushes the woman to safety but gets into trouble herself. Just as the car is about to hit Lakshmi, Rishi rescues her in the nick of time. He asks Lakshmi if she is alright, but she walks away. Rishi follows her. Malishka witnesses everything from a distance. Rishi tries to talk to Lakshmi, but he is interrupted by the crowd gathering around them.
