The episode starts with Shanmugam informing Bhagyalakshmi that Shanthi’s mother-in- law is calling. Bhagya says that she is getting nervous. Shanmugam attends the call. She asks him how the wedding is going on? Shanmugam tells her that it’s not over yet. She says to him that he is hesitating to talk with her. She asks him whether he arranged the dowry or not? Shanmugam tells her that he arranged 20 sovereign gold and 10 sovereign gold he would give to her after a month. She scolds him for backing off at the last minute. She says that he promised to give him 30 sovereigns of gold. She asks him to stop this wedding if he can’t give her the gold. She demands him to give her 30 sovereigns of gold tomorrow or else stop this wedding. Shanmugam says to them that she is the groom’s mom. That is why she is talking like that. He had to do something to buy the gold. He met a financier for a loan. He is asking him to give more interest.
