The episode starts with Bhagya and Shanmugam getting emotional about Bhagya being able to walk again. Bhagya gives credit to Kannama. Just then, the marriage broker arrives. He tells Kannama’s parents that the guy’s family liked Shanthi . Kannama’s parents, Kannama and Shanti, become happy to hear this. But they are shocked to hear the dowry demand of the groom’s family. Shanmugam asks the broker if they demand too much despite knowing their financial condition. The broker says that they demanded even more, but he convinced them by explaining their situation. He further says that they agreed as they liked Shanthi.
Shanthi is disappointed to hear this. She is about to go upstairs. Kannama stops her. Shanti says that the guy’s family is demanding too much of a dowry, so she doesn’t think this alliance will be finalized. To Shanthi and Bhagya’s shock, Shanmugam agrees to the guy’s family’s demands. The broker takes leave. Shanthi asks Shanmugam why he agreed to this alliance. Shanmugam assures her that he will handle this. He asks the family to be happy that Shanthi’s alliance is fixed and to prepare for the engagement while he takes care of other things. He leaves. Shanthi gets upset and leaves. Bhagya gives the lunch carrier to Kannama and asks her to go to work without worrying about anything.
Kannama is about to leave. A lady gets her child’s broken wooden toy to Kannama and asks her to fix it. Kannama agrees, but says that she will take two days for that. The lady agrees and leaves. Later, Kannama is worried about how Shanmugam is going to handle Shanthi’s marriage expenses. Madhu goes to Kannama. She finds her lost in her thoughts. She teases her about being lost in Barathi’s thoughts. Kannama scolds her. Kannama shares with Madhu about the marriage proposal that came for Shanthi and the guy’s family’s dowry demand which shocks Madhu. The latter asks what Shanmugam said. Kannama said that Shanmugam agreed, but she is worried that it’s beyond Shanmugam’s capability.
Madhu reassures Kannama that Shanmugam might have thought about it. She asked her not to worry and to go to her class. Kannama says that she doesn’t have class today, but she has to take the children to a nearby park for a drawing competition. She goes to get Soundarya’s permission for the same, knowing she has come to school. Barathi arrives at school with the intention of expressing his love for Kannama in front of her, which surprises Dhandapandi. He tries to convince Barathi not to confess his feelings to Kannama so soon. But Barathi is determined in his decision.
Barathi goes to find Kannama and to propose to her. Soundarya scolds a staff member for lying. She says that she hates those who lie. She scolds the staff for joining the school by giving a fake certificate. Kannama witnesses. The staff begs Soundarya to forgive him. But Soundarya refuses to forgive him. She says that she has called the police and they’re on the way to arrest him. Kannama asks a staff member what the matter is and learns that the staff gave a fake degree certificate to join the job. The staff keeps on begging Soundarya to forgive him. But the police arrive and arrest him. Kannama is shocked to see this. She is scared about what will happen to her if she gets caught for faking her identity.
