Bigg Boss 19 or Bigg Boss OTT 4?

By Anil Merani: Bigg Boss 19 was reported to premiere on July 30, 2025, hosted by Salman Khan. This season is set to last for approximately 5.5 months, making it the longest in the show’s history, running until January 2026. It will air on ColorsTV at 10 PM from Monday to Friday, with “Weekend Ka Vaar” episodes on Saturdays and Sundays at 9 PM. The season will also be streamed on JioCinema. It promises a celebrity-driven format, intentionally excluding YouTubers and influencers, and aims for a “Back to Basics” theme, emphasizing psychological gameplay, stricter rules, and mental health support. Pre-production is already underway, and Salman Khan is expected to shoot the first promo by late June 2025. Potential contestants include Gaurav Saxena and Dheeraj Dhoopar, although the final list of contestants is not yet official.

Regarding the status of Bigg Boss 19 and its potential overlap with Bigg Boss OTT 4, the situation remains somewhat unclear. Some reports, such as a May 2025 article from Siasat, indicated that Bigg Boss OTT 4 has been postponed to 2025 to accommodate Bigg Boss 19’s extended run, due to a fallout between Banijay Asia and ColorsTV. However, a June 2025 post on IWMBuzz hinted that Bigg Boss OTT 4 might still premiere in August 2025, again hosted by Salman Khan. While there is no concrete evidence suggesting that Bigg Boss 19 is on hold, its July premiere has been consistently reported across multiple sources. The rumor of an August Bigg Boss OTT could indicate a scheduling overlap or a change in plans, but until there is official confirmation, it remains speculative.

Looking back, there were earlier concerns regarding the cancellation of Bigg Boss 19 due to production disputes, such as Banijay Asia’s alleged exit or a potential shift to SonyTV. These concerns  have since been resolved, with Endemol Shine India (Banijay Asia) now confirmed to produce the season on ColorsTV.
