Chrisann Pereira speaks about her show Wack girls and what next.

Chrisann Pereira on her new show, bigg boss, upcoming project and more. Check out full interview below.

  1. The show is out and it’s been getting good reviews. How do you feel about it?

I’m ecstatic but still grounded. I’m over the moon that the audience is enjoying a show based on a niche dance style like Waacking. Due credit must be given to writers Sooni Taraporevala, lyannah Batiwala and Ronnie Sen for writing such nuanced and flawed characters that are not only real but relatable. It is known that an actor can’t save a badly written script, but a writer can give the actor room to play.

  1. What is the kind of shoes and work you are looking at doing?

Everything: I’m looking to work on projects that allow me to dive into nuanced and complex characters—whether it’s indie films, international work, theater, or film festivals. I enjoy roles that are flawed, layered, and intellectually stimulating, whether in comedy or drama. I gravitate toward stories with depth and artistry, where I can really explore the character’s journey.

  1. Web TV or films, which is one platform you love most?

Web—it’s taken a chance on me—produced opportunity for on- and off-screen crew with less censorship. It allows for a global audience at a lower price. With platforms like Mubi, off-beat cinema that wouldn’t be funded can be viewed.

All of this—anytime? Any place? Sign me up!

  1. Bigg boss for you ever?

Confined to a place without access to loved ones, proper food whilst being on national TV sounds like something I’ve done before, no?

  1. What is Chrisann as a person?

Chrisann is a human being first then an actor, dancer, and writer. Very hardworking, infact too hardworking. Can’t stand incompetence. Not scared to speak my heart out. I have an army of close friends. I’m not perfect, but I definitely have too much fun being me!
