#Exclusive| I am a happy man who is busy working- Arjun Bijlani.

By Anil Merani| If one actor has left a mark on the tv scene over the years, it has been Arjun Bijlani. He has done several shows, including Left Right Left, Miley Jab Hum Tum, Meri Aashiqui Tum Se Hi, Naagin and Kavach.

After a brief TV fiction break, he is back with the Zee TV show Pyaar Ka Pehla Adhyaya: Shiv Shakti. He plays a doctor marked for a conspiratorial attack by his chachi.

We caught up with Arjun, who is also hosting India Has Got Talent, for a quick tete-te at the screening of the first episode of Shiv Shakti.

Where do you see this show in your career graph?

I liked the story and Shiv’s character, so I said yes, I don’t calculate shows on my career graph. My acting journey has just started, and I have miles to go.

On your break from TV fiction?

After doing back-to-back fiction shows, I decided to try my hands at the web, State of Seige: 26/11 and  Roohaniyat, both of which did well. Now I am back in familiar pastures.

I chose Shiv Shakti over another OTT show because something told me to do it. My mom’s name is Shakti. My house is also called Shakti.

Your OTT stint?

The web has its dynamic. You get scripts in time. I have experience in both, and Shiv is my focus right now.

Juggling fiction and nonfiction?

One gets bored after working seven days a week, so nonfiction offers something different to do; I am hosting India Has Got Talent. I have participated in other reality shows such as Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi 12 Dance Deewane 3.

I am a happy man who is busy working. I start my day early at 5.30 am and thus have my evening free for my family or the gym.

What makes you tick as a host?

My presence of mind, I am aware of what is happening around me, I am the connection between the judges and the audience, and also I am a funny guy to boot
