Exclusive: I am glad the Baghin shoot is over- Aneri Vajani

By Anil Merani| Aneri Vajani is excited about her upcoming supernatural fantasy show Baghin, which will air on Star Bharat and Atrangii from the 8th of Feb.

It also stars Zeeshan Khan, Ansh Bagri, and Krrip Kapur Suri.

“Initially, I was hesitant about the genre, but Atrangii was insistent. I guess Mata Rani desired that I do the show.”

Baaghin is about an intense battle between man and beast, an unexplored concept in Indian OTT and TV. The story follows ‘Gauri’ (Aneri), a simple girl possessed by the spirit of a tigress (Baghin), initiating a vengeful quest against those responsible for her untimely demise.

“As I am playing both Gauri and Baagin. It would take me three hours to get in to look at the tigress. It has been a roller coaster ride. It took a lot of time to finish (nine months), and I am glad it is over,” she said.

“The best thing is that it is entirely different from what I have done before. Playing a double role, I had to look both ferocious and scared simultaneously. Even during the narration, I asked the makers how they thought of me as a tigress, given that I always played timid characters. But since they trusted me so much, I decided to plunge,” she added.

“I request the audience to watch the first ten episodes, after which you will automatically get hooked. I have worked hard, given my sweat and toil, so please support me,” she said.

How was it working with your co-stars?

“I did not get time to chill with them. Getting into two looks itself consumed my bandwidth. Whatever little time was left, I preferred to take power naps,” added Aneri, who will celebrate her birthday next month.

How has your journey (Nisha Aur Uske Cousins, Beyhadh, and Anupamaa) been?It is a beautiful one, full of ups and downs. I am most proud that I have done it alone, not taking the support of anyone.”
