Akanksha Puri and Vishal Kotian are all set to grace an upcoming web series, Shiringarika, on the Atrangi app from 17th Jan.
“This historical- mytho produced by Hawk Eye was a godsend for me; hence, I grabbed it with open arms. I like Alauddin Khalji type trait in my king Vishwaraj’s character who has 65 wives,” says Vishal, who first came into light with Har Mushkil Ka Hal Akbar Birbal and Bigg Boss 15.
“When I saw Padmaavat, Ranveer Singh completely bowled me over, I overlooked Shahid Kapoor and Deepika Padukone.”
“Shiringarika has all the trapping of a masala show, revenge, drama and lust so that you will be entirely mesmerised. I must thank the Atrangni team for giving me this opportunity. Any actor would have given an arm or leg to be in my shoes.
Vishal, last seen in the Zee TV show Maitree, had great fun working with Akansha;” we encouraged each other to stay fit. She would push me to hit the gym after 12-hour shoots. Even the other co-actors were swell.”
“The web system is evolving, and the days we would have 8-10 episodes are gone. After detailed scripting, our series now stretches over 65 episodes,” added Vishal, who started with Family No. 1 years back.
Akansha, who looks super shot in the show, says “she loved playing a princess with a birth scar, Abha, who covered her face with a cloth. The best part was that I was asked not to wear any makeup. “
“When Vishavraj married Abha and discovered my truth, he abandoned me, and I plot my revenge, which is what the story is about.”
“I must thank the directors, Manmeet Singh and Haneef, for having handheld us during the shoot. They ensured that we pulled off a lot of stuff which was nearly impossible to execute. We did not have many facilities in Gujarat, so it was tough.”
I also liked that I had to pay a lot of attention to fitness as there are a lot of action scenes. Vishal helped me understand the importance of every gram and says Akansha was a part of Madhur Bhandarkar’s Calender Girls.
This is Akansha’s second collab with Vishal. ‘We had worked together before, during which I played Paravati in Vighnaharta Ganesh. Vishal was Ravana, the antagonist, and our on-screen chemistry was quite intense.’

In closing, Akashansa, also a part of Bigg OTT 2, said she hopes her sizzling on-screen chemistry with Vishal will remind fans of Deepika and Ranveer Jodi.
