By Anil Merani: Talented actor Gaurav Bajaj is looking forward to his role in the Colors TV show, Dhaakad Beera, after the leap.
“ I play the grown-up kid, Samrat, and the story will revolve around how I care for my on-screen sister Kishmish (Nikki Sharma). Samrat is very protective and cannot bear to see even a pinprick hurt his sister. Typically, TV shows focus on the romance between a boy and a girl, but here, the main story delves into sibling relationships. Even my character’s love interest, Neha Rana, will be shown through the perspective of his bond with his sister.”
Guarav, who had done several shows like Sapnon Se Bhare Naina, Piya Rangrezz, and Choti Sarrdaarni, added, “I am enjoying our reading session with Nikki , and I am sure our storyline will be easily loved, as we all have siblings in life. Not everyone gets a spouse, but brother or sister relationships are universal.”
“ I will incorporate elements of the banter between my real-life sister and add them to my characterization. The first scene we will shoot is the Rakhi shoot, where my love and devotion towards Kishmish come into full bloom from the very beginning,” he said
Since Gaurav is 32 in real life and Samrat is 25 on screen, how will you adjust your body language? “I will help him relax, as we are usually very cautious in our twenties. But yes, since he has experienced a lot, there will be a lot of maturity in him.”
Gaurav is also looking forward to working with Rakshanda Khan, who plays his on-screen grandmother and main antagonist.” Conservative Bhanwari Devi dislikes Kishmish, yet she loves me, so our equation would be interesting. I have worked with Rakshanda before, and she is a superb actor.”
In closing, Gaurav refused to comment on the ratings of Beera.” I have immersed myself in the character (taking the full backstory briefing from the writers ) and am hopeful our team effort will elevate the story to new heights.”
