By Anil Merani: Abigail Pande is excited about her new Zee 5 comic web series Divorce Ki Liye Kuch Bhi Karega.
“Our setting is a news channel, and the focus is more on the breakdown of marriage, albeit in a funny way. However, I would not say the ending is not happily ever after. Why dont you watch our labour of love.”
Abigail adds, “What I like best about our concept is that it is lighter in drama and emotion than most content today. There is a shortage of comic shows, and we fill that chasm.”
“The light-hearted atmosphere extended on set, where we all had a blast. The director, Ankush Bhatt, would do a lot of improvisations on set. I also had a whale of a time working with my co-star Rishab Chadha,” added Abigail, who would go with the surname Jain earlier.
TV actor Abigail admitted that breaking into the web is difficult for small-screen folks: ” There is a lot of negativity about us, i.e. that we act in a particular way or throw tantrums.”
Also, there is a lot of focus on your social media profile, so I had to increase my Instagram followers but decided to do it the organic way. I started making creative reels, which slowly worked by God’s grace. I will not say I now have a million followers, but it is a decent number.”
“I then did the usual round of production houses and sent photos to the casting agent before netting Divorce Ki Liye Kuch Bhi Karega.”
.”She had also done a few OTT projects, which went unsung.
Abigail would be OK returning to TV if she gets a juicy assignment.” Tube leads are good or bad, period; I want more, which the web provides.”
“Whatever I am today is because of TV; I will never degrade my alma mater. I began with saas-bahu (Tujh Sang Preet Lagai Sajna and Dil Se Diya Vachan before moving to the youth genre. Yeh Hai Aashiqui and Gumrah: End of Innocence)” Her last TV outing was Ziddi Dil Maane Na on Sab TV.
She also did Nach Baliye 8 with live-in partner Sanam Johar. Unfortunately, the relationship ended as Sanam was not ready to walk the aisle.
Abigail is fine going bold on the web if the character demands it: ” One major problem is that when casting guys approach you, they ask if you would be OK with skin show or intimacy, rather than narrating the story. They dont even offer the comfort level, saying that they would shoot the explicit part aesthetically. Such insensitive talk with a lady is a sure turn-off. “
Looking ahead, Abigail might have a few more projects up her sleeve, but she does not want to open her cards too soon.” You might hear good news soon,” she ended, leaving us with a sense of anticipation for what’s to come.”
Abigail, we wish you all the best for Divorce Ki Liye Kuch Bhi Karega. and your upcoming works.
