#Exclusive| If you are a real fan, would you not want your favorite to be satisfied with life? – Vaquar Shaikh.

By Anil Merani| Talented powerhouse Vaquar Shaikh looks forward to his entry in the numero uno Star Plus show, Anupamaa. He will play the latter’s love interest in a love triangle involving Anuj (Gaurav Khanna).

“I am excited about being part of this  Director  Kut show, which has a huge fan following in India and overseas. I have already started shooting and will soon make my entry. I  am waiting to see how Deepu(His character’s name) looks in the show and stands out compared to other characters, ” says this actor, who has been part of several hit shows over the years, such as Woh Rehne Waali Mehlon Ki, Saraswatichandra, Dil Se Di Dua… Saubhagyavati Bhava? and Qubool Hai.

So, are you ready to face a barrage of online trolling for barging into Anupamaa and  Anuj’s life? “Well, are they not divorced? And as far as I know, he has already moved on.”
He further questions whether a  woman should remain single when a man can move on and remarry. “And here, when I say move on, it does not necessarily mean getting another man, but finding happiness.”

“Also, if you are a real fan, would you not want your favorite to be satisfied with life,” added he.

Here, Vaquar adds that he hopes the success of Anupamaa encourages other makers to make mature love stories. “There are only a few examples of such stories, e.g., Bade  Ache Lagte Hain. I wonder why  Indian makers shy away, given that similar-themed Pakistani shows boast huge numbers on YouTube, showing a market for such content.”

In closing, Vaquar feels that the biggest reason for the success of Anupamaa is the identification factor. “Millions of docile homemakers see themselves in our protagonist and hope to emulate how she has broken through the shackles of marriage to find love and her separate identity again.”
