Freedom of expression is bilateral.

By Anil Merani: After getting universally thrashed regarding his controversial incestuous remarks, Ranveer Allahbadia is now starting to get qualified support.

TV actor Sai Ketan Rao, last seen in Bigg Boss OTT 3, has taken to social media to question the witch hunt against Ranveer. However, he did not support the offending content.

Sai, who gained fame with Mehndi Hai Rachne Waali wants society not to go after one individual but rather address real crimes in society, such as rapes, scams and environmental issues.

Read what Sai has written.

However, we have a couple of counterpoints to all those who try to deflect the heat of Ranveer by using the argumentative tactic of ‘whataboutery ‘, which involves shifting the focus of the discussion to a different issue.

If Ranveer had freedom of expression, others would have the equal right to feel offended. The same constitution gives Ranveer the right to profess his view and empowers others to go to court to seek redressal.

Let me be clear: I am not commenting on morality or otherwise regarding what Ranveer said, as values are personal things. Not everyone has the same set of values.

Only the Supreme Court of India has the final right to call anything vulgar, though it, too, can change its view over time.

i am just supporting the constitution if Ranveer has FOE other have a right to question

Any individual is fully empowered to question those who question Ranveer. This is a fundamental aspect of freedom of speech and expression, and it’s important to remember that everyone’s voice matters in the public discourse.

Every Indian can question any ongoing discourse, regardless of the political or social divide. This is a right and a responsibility to ensure a balanced and fair society.
