The episode starts with Neil is shown to be sleeping in the night and Teju is reading a book and she couldn’t sleep. Teju is shown to be scared due to the lightning. Teju accidentally drops a glass. Neil wakes up and asks Teju what happened. Teju says glass has fell down. Neil says he will clean it. Teju says to Neil that he can clean it tomorrow. Neil agrees and goes to sleep.
Teju is again scared of the lightning. Teju takes off the pillows in between Neil and her. Neil wakes up and asks Teju where are the pillows. Teju says to Neil that he kicked the pillows away. Teju hugs Neil as there is lightning. Neil asks Teju if she is afraid of the lightning. Teju says yes. Teju asks Neil if she can sleep by holding his hand for today. Neil agrees.
Neil looks at Teju who is sleeping and thinks about what Teju has done for him. Rituraj knocks on Teju and Neil’s room door and later enters the room. Neil asks Rituraj if he doesn’t have any manners as he came into their room without knocking on the door. Rituraj says he has knocked on the door but he didn’t respond so he came to check on them.
Teju wakes up and asks Rituraj if he has doesn’t have any manners as he came in the middle of the night into her and Neil’s room. Rituraj says he came to check on Neil as he was released from jail. Teju argues with Rithuraj and comments on him. Rituraj later comments on Teju as she always says that she doesn’t think of Neil as her husband but now it looks like she doesn’t have any problem thinking of Neil as her husband. Neil tries to leave. Teju stops Neil and says to Rituraj that he also always thinks of her as his friend. Teju clarifies to Rituraj that he doesn’t think of him as her friend. Teju warns Rituraj not to come into their room in the middle of the night like this ever again. Rituraj leaves from there. Teju later says to Neil that she doesn’t like Rituraj coming like this in the middle of the night. Neil says Rituraj thinks of her as his friend and he is his brother. Teju clarifies to Neil that Rituraj isn’t her friend. Teju hugs Neil as she is scared of the lightning. Rituraj overhears their conversation and decides to teach a lesson to Teju.
The next day, Neil comes out of the washroom and sees Teju. He recalls her warning to Rithu Raj and the moment they shared last night. Teju secretly smiles upon seeing him. As Neil puts on his shirt, Teju receives a message from her brother saying he got an A+ in maths thanks to Neil. Teju smiles, remembering Mukta’s words: “It’s hard not to love Neil—anyone would fall for him.”
Neil receives a phone call and says during the call that he’s leaving tomorrow. Teju asks if he’s going somewhere. She notices that he hasn’t buttoned his shirt properly and asks where his attention is. Neil replies, “I got distracted seeing you,” and fixes his shirt. He then tells her he’s going to Konkan for a medical camp. Teju says the place isn’t safe during the rainy season and insists he shouldn’t go. Neil explains that he goes every year. Teju reminds him that their father’s health deteriorated there, and says she has decided that neither she nor her loved ones will ever go there again. Neil teases, “Rithu Raj isn’t accompanying me, and I’m not your loved one, am I?” Teju tells him to inform Surwa that he’s not going. Neil says that’s not possible and assures her, “Don’t worry about who will take you to Amaravati. I’ll be back by then.” Teju thinks to herself how hard it is to tell Neil that he’s become important to her. Neil says she can go to her mother’s place if she wants. Teju replies that she can stay alone.
Just then, Nandini enters with permission and comments on their playful banter.
Nandini informs them that tomorrow is Vat Savitri pooja and they must perform it together. Neil says he can’t, as he’s leaving for the camp. Teju tells him to leave today itself and walks away. Nandini tells Neil, “Teju is unable to express her feelings, but I can see she cares about you and doesn’t want you to go to Konkan.” Neil responds, “She’s just worried about who will take her to the exam in Amaravati.” Nandini says, “You’ll understand her feelings in time. I just hope she accepts you as her husband from the heart.”
Meanwhile, Leena tells Amruta about the items needed for the pooja. Nandini tells them Neil won’t be there as he’s leaving for camp. Leena comments that Teju won’t keep a fast for Neil anyway, so he doesn’t need to be here. “He’s just a medal to her,” she adds. Teju enters and firmly says she will definitely keep the fast for Neil. Leena replies, “It’s better if you don’t—this ritual must come from the heart, accepting him as your husband.” Amruta reminds Leena that she herself didn’t perform her marriage rituals wholeheartedly. Teju says, “That time was different.” Nandini asks, “What’s changed now? Do you love Neil?”
Rithu Raj interrupts, saying, “Don’t take it the wrong way, Teju. But on one hand, you told me you can’t even bear to see Neil, and on the other, you’re talking about fasting for him.” Just then, Neil enters. Teju says, “I don’t understand how you can lie like this. I never said that to you. One day, I’ll expose your lies.” Neil asks, “Even if Teju had told you that, how can you reveal her private words in front of everyone?”
Teju tells Neil, “Rithu Raj is not my friend. One day, I’ll prove it.” She leaves. Nandini scolds Rithu Raj for fuelling the tension between Neil and Teju and urges him to change for the better before walking away. Everyone disperses.
Rithu Raj then approaches Neil and says, “Teju is lying to herself. One day, you’ll see the truth.” He walks away. Neil says to himself, “I already know the truth. Right now, Teju is distancing herself from you—and I feel she’s starting to feel something for me.”
