Actor and singer Suyyash Rai talks about music, fatherhood and more
1. What has Suyyash been busy with ?
I have been busy in my studio I don’t step out much is because i love being indoors in my studio am making new songs or just sitting and playing with my guitar … ever since I’ve taken a break from acting my only motive has been to make good music. I don’t know my life in 10 years from now but for now I really wanna make good music..I feed my soul through music. I am not looking at doing television for now because the kind of music I want to do requires time and TV won’t allow me that.
2. How has fatherhood been so far ?
It has been the best thing to have happened to me. It has made me a better person he is my Khilona and no matter how stressed i am looking at him just makes me feel happy. The look on his face when he sees me and smiles its been a beautiful journey.
3. Next what for you?
Am waiting for my release with Milind Gaba he is a dear friend we made this song and its a great dance number and we are to release soon.
Apart from this am planning to announce my album soon with 6 to 7 songs for my youtube.
4. Are we going to see you on screen again as an actor or is singing taking priority?
Am not going to say no to it. You will definitely see me on screen but OTT or films is what i prefer for now. Music right now deserves every bit of me and thats where am am giving my all too.
Television requires long hours and that may not be possible just yet with the kind of music am looking to do but OTT and films am open to. I started earning with acting so i cant ever turn my back to it.
5. How open are you to web or films?
Am absolutely open to OTT and films so i can manage time off it for my music too to which am giving my sweat and blood and time and has my heart.
6. Whats your next single ?
With Milind Gaba called Mishri. We shall announce this soon.
7. Suyyash the actor or the singer your choice ?
Any day Suyyash the singer makes me happy and if am happy i can make those around me happier. I sleep with a smile on my face.
8. You have moved from acting to singing how easy or difficult is this transition?
Was a difficult transition to decide to not act anymore and do music was a leap of faith. Kishwer and i had just gotten married when i made this decision but she supported me and told me to go all out and give it my all. It was difficult initially but i had the faith and i kept doing it and today am in a happier space and am sure the miracle and breakthrough will happen soon enough.
9. Who introduced you into singing and how did that happen?
Not just one person but many people.
My sister to introduce me to music then my friends who used to make me sing at karaokes.Then i went to a part once with Kishwers close friends the Meet Brothers heard me sing at their party and walked up to me and said i should consider singing. After bigboss however i took it seriously. Darshan Rawal however once called me post bigboss and asked me what i was doing one day he had a gig in ahmedabad and took me along to watch the show after half the gig waa done Darshan said there was a surprise for the audience since bigboss was over all of them knew my name and they started screaming my name and to was such an exhilarating feeling with Darshan and i singing a song…what a high that stayed with me and i live for that.
