I want to do challenging roles- Aman Jaitly

Aman Jaitly speaks of his new series that’s due to release, turning director for Dalljiet Kaura travel blogs, and what next.

  1. Tell us a little about your journey so far?

The journey so far has been amazing.

I have over 10 years of theater experience as an actor, having performed on global platforms, including prestigious national and international festivals such as the Theatre Olympics and Bharat Rang Mahotsav.

In 2017, I shifted to Mumbai and worked in a few TV soaps, including Mere Angne Mein (Star Plus) and Bhootu (Zee TV). I was also featured in the promotional campaign for Bigg Boss Season 12, appearing on hoardings alongside Salman Khan. Following that, I acted in several web series and films, such as Manphodganj Ki Binny, The Verdict, Bezubaan, and Virgin Suspect. Last year, my film Non Stop Dhamaal, in which I worked alongside legendary actors like Annu Kapoor, Rajpal Yadav, and Asrani ji, was released.

I am also the founder of an arts and entertainment company called 9 Limbs—Confluence of Arts. During the first COVID-19 wave, we organized India’s first online theater festival, which featured performances by some of the country’s top theater productions. We also hosted discussions with legendary theater directors, including Padmashree Late Bansi Kaul, Waman Kendre, Neelam Mansingh, Prasanna ji, and Sanjay Upadhyay.

As an actor, I am currently looking forward to the release of my upcoming project, Chitta, where I play one of the main leads. This role showcases a completely different shade of my abilities, and I am both nervous and excited to see how the audience reacts.

  1. How did you land up Chitta and why did you say yes to it?

Writer and director Rajeev Mendiratta sir approached me for this character, and he said, “I want you to do this because it’s quite challenging and has a gray shade.” When I read the script, I was immediately captivated and said, “Woah, sir, I’m doing it!”

I had never attempted such a gray-shaded character before, but he trusted me with it. The first thing he said was, “You’ll need to trim your hair completely and grow a bold, heavy beard.” Without any hesitation, I agreed, saying, “Done, sir, I’ll do it.”

The script of Chitta is something every actor would want to be part of because of the strong social message it carries about drug awareness. As an actor, I felt it was my responsibility to contribute to this project—not just as a performer but also as someone who supports the cause behind the film.

  1. What next?

A few of my projects are set to release soon. One of them is the web series Jackpot, where I play a very unique character—an advocate. Additionally, I have a feature film and a short film lined up for release. Meanwhile, I am also actively searching for good scripts to work on.

  1. We also heard you are the director of Dalljiets travel blogs how’s it working with her?

I am truly grateful and blessed to be the cinematographer and director for Dalljiet’s travel vlog series My Soul in My Suitcase. Dalljiet and I first met on the set of the web series Chitta Ve, and we quickly became good friends. We often talked about films, acting, and our shared passion for storytelling. About four months ago, we decided to collaborate on this project and make it something special.

Now, I am both shooting and directing the travel vlogs, and for that, I want to give a big hug and heartfelt thanks to Dalljiet for this incredible opportunity. It’s also a privilege to have shared the screen with her because, as an actor, she is absolutely amazing—truly a crafted artist in every sense.

So, I’d like to request everyone to please support and share the travel series My Soul in My Suitcase.
