By Anil Merani| Manav Gohil is all set to return to the popular Sony TV show Dabangii after fans expressed dissatisfaction about his absence. Manav played Inspector Ankush, the protector of the child lead, Arya. However, after the show took a generation leap, his character was shot and absent from the narrative.
According to a reliable source, Manav will return to the set in about 10 to 12 days. There were concerns that his character would need not be given equal importance to the older Arya, now played by Rachna Mistry. Manav had spoken to the creative team, who assured him of the same.
The absence of Manav and less space given to Aamir Dalvi, who played Arya’s father, were considered one of the reasons for a dip in ratings. The source suggests they were the show’s mainstays and needed equal space with the new lead for the series to flourish.
Many fans were upset about Manav’s absence; some even threatened to stop watching the show if he did not return. This backlash may have prompted the creative team to reintroduce his character. Seeing how his return pans out in the show will be interesting.
We tried to speak to Manav, but he was unavailable. Our attempts to connect with the producers also failed.
