The episode begins with Mangal emotionally talking to Sudesh’s photo. She credits her achievements to him. Kusum overhears this and gets emotional.
Sowmya approaches Kusum and reminds her that Mangal’s Pehla Swad was the reason behind Sudesh’s death and Akshat’s trauma. She warns Kusum that if they forgive Mangal, Sudesh’s soul will not rest in peace. Kusum asks her to stop and walks away in tears.
Later, Kusum comes to the dining table and notices a plate turned upside down. She lifts it and finds a “Happy Birthday” message under it. Just then, Mangal arrives with Kusum’s favorite dishes and wishes her a happy birthday. Adit, surprised, asks Sowmya why she didn’t remind him of the day, as Mangal used to. Sowmya brushes it off.
Mangal takes Kusum’s blessings. Kusum asks if she remembered her birthday, to which Mangal replies yes. Adit also wishes Kusum and apologizes. Kusum smiles and says, “Even I forgot my birthday, so don’t worry.” Akshat adds, “No one brought a gift for Grandma, everyone forgot.” Kusum says she doesn’t need any gifts. Mangal then says she did bring one and hands it over.
Akshat insists Kusum open the gift as he’s curious to see what it is. Sowmya tells Adit, “Mangal is just doing all this to make you look bad.” Kusum opens the gift and finds a Panchdhatu Maata Rani idol, something she had wished for in the past. She’s overjoyed. Mangal tells Kusum, “I remembered your wish and got it for you.” They place the idol in the mandir and perform a pooja. Kusum feels deeply content.
Adit, feeling guilty, tells Sowmya that someone else remembered Amma’s birthday and made her happy. He regrets forgetting it. Sowmya says, “The day isn’t over yet. We can still plan something special.”
After the pooja, Sowmya wishes Kusum a happy birthday and announces that she’s throwing a party that night. Kusum initially refuses, but Akshat and Sowmya persuade her to agree. Sowmya promises to take care of everything—and thinks to herself that her plan will help get Mangal thrown out of the house.
Later, the decorator asks Sowmya to check the setup. She approves it, then secretly takes a red balloon from him to execute her plan against Mangal.
Mangal asks Akshat why he isn’t ready yet. He says, “I’m preparing a gift for Dadi, and I need her photo.” Mangal tells him the photo album is in the storeroom and goes to fetch it. Meanwhile, Sowmya fills a red balloon with glass shards in the storeroom, thinking, This special balloon is for you, Mangal.
Mangal enters the storeroom and sees books scattered on the floor. “Why are these books lying here?” she wonders aloud. Sowmya hides and quickly covers her things. Mangal picks up the photo album and leaves. Sowmya breathes a sigh of relief.
Guests begin arriving. Santhi and Lipika come to Adit’s house and wish Kusum a happy birthday. Santhi tells Kusum that Mangal insisted they attend, otherwise she would have never come due to Adit. Lipika sees Kapil and his mother entering and points it out. Santhi praises Kapil’s looks. Mangal thanks Pratima for coming. Both Pratima and Kapil wish Kusum.
Santhi asks Mangal to introduce her to Kapil and his mother. Mangal introduces her to Pratima. Pratima praises Mangal and her mother, calling Mangal a diamond. Santhi thanks them for supporting Mangal. Kapil adds, “Mangal is independent. She doesn’t need anyone’s support.”
Adit greets them and asks Sowmya to play some music. She agrees and thinks, Now Mangal will walk right into my trap.
Akshat shows the greeting card he made for Kusum. She is touched. Then, Akshat brings a bunch of red balloons. Kusum asks him about them. Sowmya becomes anxious. Akshat says, “It’s for a game. Whoever gets this balloon has to pop it and do what’s written on the chit inside.” Sowmya panics, realizing her balloon might get mixed up and someone else might get hurt.
