The episode begins with Kapil saying that the bottle cap is pointing to Adit. Other employees agree and ask Adit to sing a song for Mangal. Adit hesitates, saying his voice isn’t good and he can’t sing, but everyone encourages him. Just then, Sowmya arrives at the venue. One of the employees asks Adit to at least sing “Happy Birthday” to Mangal. Adit agrees and starts singing. Another employee tells him that he should sing it from the heart while standing in front of Mangal. They make Adit stand before Mangal and sing.
Sowmya enters and sees Adit singing “Happy Birthday” to Mangal and is shocked. Everyone else smiles. Pratima suggests they cut the cake first and play games later. Mangal cuts the cake and feeds Adit. Just as Adit is about to feed Mangal, Sowmya stops him. Mangal asks why she’s there. Sowmya snaps, saying she’s here to talk to her husband. She confronts Adit, asking why he’s celebrating his ex-wife’s birthday and if they’re having an affair.
Mangal asks Sowmya to speak respectfully. Sowmya retorts that Mangal shouldn’t interfere between husband and wife. Adit defends Mangal, saying she has every right and tells Sowmya that in the past six months, he realized Mangal was his true life partner. He says he now understands Mangal’s value because of Sowmya. Shocked, Sowmya asks what nonsense he’s talking. Adit says he wants to talk to Mangal. He tells her that he regrets not valuing her earlier and always considered her his wife. He asks her to give him a second chance.
Adit apologizes to Sowmya and tells her he wants to return to his wife and children. He says Mangal is his only wife and that he missed her a lot. He tells Mangal that although he never gifted her anything before, today he wants a gift from her—her forgiveness—and asks her to come back into his life. Mangal feels happy, and they hug.
Suddenly, it’s revealed to be Sowmya’s dream.
In reality, Mangal is about to feed cake to Pratima, but Pratima asks her to feed Lipika first. Sowmya decides not to confront Adit in front of everyone. Lipika then asks Mangal to give cake to Kapil as well. Mangal thanks Kapil for opening a branch in Delhi. Sara announces it’s time for the photo session and calls all the employees. Adit joins the group photo. Sowmya realizes that Mangal is Adit’s boss and that he is working under her. She quietly leaves.
During the photo session, the photographer asks some employees to kneel in the front. Adit and others kneel. Lipika comments on Adit. Pratima invites Lipika to stay in the guest house, but Lipika says they will come another time. Pratima asks her to come next time with her mother. Lipika agrees and tells Mangal that they enjoyed the party and that her mom will be upset when she finds out she missed it. Adit watches everything.
Later, Adit returns home. The house is dark, and he asks who is there. Sowmya turns on the lights and asks if he didn’t recognize her. He explains that it was dark. He notices her dress and apologizes for forgetting their dinner plan. Sowmya asks if his boss is male or female. Adit says female. Sowmya sarcastically comments that it makes sense now why he’s working overtime. Adit apologizes and promises to make up for it with dinner the next day. Sowmya says she understands his work pressure and tells him to relax.
Adit thanks her and offers to book a table. She says it’s not needed and takes him to a decorated spot in the house. Adit thanks her for making the day special. Sowmya tells him she doesn’t want to waste the special day and asks him to cut the cake. Adit sees the cake and is shocked to read “Happy Birthday Mangal” on it. Sowmya sings the birthday song for Mangal and reminds him of how he sang it earlier. Adit is stunned.
Sowmya taunts him, saying that since he canceled their plans for his boss Mangal’s birthday, they might as well celebrate it at home. She forces him to cut the cake and eat it. Adit asks what’s wrong with her. He loses his temper and tells her to stop. Sowmya questions him about working under Mangal. Adit replies that he’s working with Mangal, not under her.
Sowmya asks why he lied. Adit says he knew how she would react, so he hid it. Sowmya grabs his collar and accuses him of blaming her. Adit asks her to look at her own behavior. He says he didn’t want to work with Mangal, but circumstances forced him. Sowmya says she’s managing everything and giving him money, so why does he need to work? Adit replies, “This is exactly what I don’t want—your money.
