By Gossips TV: Popular television actress Megha Chakraborty, best known for her role in Imlie, is all set to make a grand comeback with Star Plus’ ongoing drama Jhanak. Megha was last seen on Colors TV’s Mishri, and now she returns to the small screen in an intriguing new avatar.
Megha Chakrobarty will he playing female lead in Leena Gangopadhyay next show on Star Plus; she was introduced yesterday as Ishaani in Star Plus Jhanak! Jhanak as Ishaani, a pivotal character introduced shortly before the show takes a 20-year generation leap. Although her role will be a cameo, it is expected to play a crucial part in the transition of the storyline. The current lead actors, Krushal Ahuja and Hiba Nawab, who portray Anirudh and Jhanak, will reportedly exit the show post-leap, along with most of the existing cast.
Insiders reveal that actors Arjit Taneja and Shagun Singh have been shortlisted for leading roles following the leap, sparking excitement among fans for the fresh phase of the show.
The decision to introduce a generational shift comes as the show struggles with low TRP ratings, mainly due to stiff competition from the ongoing IPL season. The makers hope the leap and the new cast will revive audience interest and improve viewership.
