The episode starts with Shiri, Guneet, Kabir and Niya sitting together in a room. Shiri asks Niya whether she is thinking about cancelling New York. She denies that. Guneet says that Niya is afraid of disappointing her father by going to New York. She tells Niya that she isn’t trying to be her mother since she knows her place but she knows that if her mother was there then she would have said the same: Amber is stubborn because she has always done what he has expected and for one time, if she does something for her happiness, her love won’t be proved less. She leaves after explaining her.
The next morning, Niya sees Amber putting lights standing on ladder and asks him to get down. Guneet comes and says that later he will complain about pain in back. Amber says that her husband is still young and can even pick her up. Guneet notices that he is too excited and sees that he has drunk three cups of coffee. She scolds him. Niya and Guneet manage to convince Amber to get out leaving the lights. After he leaves, they gesture to Kabir, who is hiding, to follow him.
Amber goes out for workout and Kabir goes with him. Amber asks whether he is following him. Kabir starts talking about the news of women empowerment and says that Niya could go to New York for a two years course. Amber beats him with newspaper. Amber and Kabir argues as Kabir mentions to him about going to New York while trying to talk with him about Niya’s course. Amber ends up ordering him that he will be “Ghar Jamai”: he will stay at their house after the marriage with Niya.
Later, Niya and Guneet laugh at Kabir for agreeing to be “Ghar Jamai”. Kabir says that he didn’t accept. Niya points out that he didn’t tell Amber anything as well. She pulls his leg saying that he didn’t know that her boyfriend is such a loser. She decides to go to talk with Amber herself.
Amber is in his room when Niya comes. She notices he is shutting a bag and asks what he is hiding. She goes to check and opens the bag: it has a bridal dress. She says that it is very pretty and asks whose it is. Amber tells her that her mother wore it on her wedding and thought she will wear on her engagement day but now he understands that it is very old fashioned so he was putting it away.
Niya says that he decides everything himself. She stands up and places it in front of her asking Amber how it is looking. Amber replies that she is looking like her mother and tells her that her mother had placed it as pillow under her head when she was born.
Guneet comes in and praises the lehenga. She asks Niya if she told Amber. Niya shakes her head. Amber asks whether he should book the same hall for engagement that they had chosen for wedding. Guneet says that the engagement cannot happen because Niya is going to New York for a course of two years. Amber understands why Kabir was talking like that earlier. He puts the dress away and walks away.
Niya is about to go behind him but Guneet stops her saying that she cannot save him from any pain. She says that it is not wrong to think about herself and even if her father is upset then it doesn’t mean that he won’t be happy for her dreams. She tells Niya that he will be fine with time.
Niya goes to Amber who is talking on phone and asks what he is doing. Amber sits on sofa and says that he is just cancelling lights since she is going. Niya asks whether she should go. Amber says that she has taken a decision so what’s the use, also last time she went to New York but now things have changed within a year. Niya asks whether she should go or not again. Amber says that she is leaving Guneet, Kabir, her CEO position and the baby coming and going, being selfish.
Niya says that he has Guneet, Kabir has friends and she will be alone yet he is calling her selfish. They argue as Niya wants him to let her go happily and concentrate on baby. Guneet comes and watches them from corner. Niya walks away. Amber blames Guneet too for not telling him the truth. Guneet leaves.
Amber unpacks her stuff frustrated. She cries saying that she will not go anywhere and she has to fight every time. She puts her stuff again in bag saying that she cannot listen to Amber every time. She sits down giving up and cries.
Guneet looks at her. She goes to her and tries calming her down assuring that everything will be fine. She asks her not to worry about Amber since she will look after him. She asks Niya to dream: dreaming is not a bad thing, this is her age to dream and she has carried enough responsibilities. She sits with Niya and says she is very important in her life and she will always be and she wants her to be happy, go, dream, play, live and leave everything else on her. She asks her to remember when she is scared or confused that she is there. She promises her that she won’t ever leave her.
Niya hugs her crying. Guneet asks her to stop crying and get ready for America. Niya breaks the hug and calls her “Guni Maa”. She says that she felt bad when she said that she is responsible for Amber’s stubborn behaviour but she knows her mother would have done the same. Guneet cries asking about “Guni Maa”.
Niya says that she is special for she has a special name and special place. They hug emotionally. Niya says that she will go to New York but not with Amber upset so she has a plan. Guneet asks whether she is in the plan. Niya replies obviously. Guneet says that no plan can be done without her involvement if it’s about trapping Amber. Niya laughs.
