Mohammad Nazim: Every project has contributed to my growth

Actor Mohammad Nazim, who rose to fame with his show Saath Nibhana Saathiya, says that the show was a turning point in his career. The actor adds that everything that followed the show helped define his career. “My journey started with an ad shoot for a magazine, after which I got Saath Nibhana Saathiya. The peak point in the career was Saath Nibhana Saathiya, which ran for 7 years. After that, I did a Punjabi film Big Daddy. I have also done many music videos. I did the role of Ghumaan Singh in Udaan which also got appreciation from the audience and now I am playing the role of Sabru in Roop: Mard Ka Naya Swaroop. I think each and every project that I have done is big for me and has contributed to my growth both as an individual and actor too,” he says.

The actor urges newbies to try and learn on the job. “My advice to people who want to become actors is to work hard. They should indulge themselves in getting practical experience of the field so that they can shape their craft as well as their future. I believe hard work never goes waste. So, instead of being very choosey, take up work which will help you get to know your field better,” he says.

He adds, “I think luck and hard work are the two wheels of a cycle without which,
it cannot move forward. So, I believe that you have to work hard and at the same time, your destiny should be in your favour as well.”

Ask him what he feels are his strength as an actor, and he says, “I think my ability to work hard, and determination and focus toward my work are what has made me who I am today. Also, when I get a new role, I start living the life of that character. That is very important for an actor.”

Talking about future plans, he says, “I would want to do an action story or a love story. I am also willing to take up a role in an action- comedy or a romantic-action show.”
