“Why did you do it Sai” Bhuvana asks her with pain in her voice. Sai stops eating and keeps quiet with the plate in her hands but didn’t dare to look at bhuvana who is staring at her with questioning gaze for answers.
“My marriage with your father was not arranged. We eloped and got married. Our Parents never forgave us but then our love was enough for us. Then we came to know, we are pregnantandour happinessknew no bounds. We finally became a complete family. You were just a toddler when your dad died in an accident. My Parents asked me to remarry as they thought I was very young back then and had a future and your father’s parents tried to take you away from me as they thought I will remarry and I am incapable of taking care of my daughter. My parents told me that I shouldn’t throw away my life and my desires for you but then I was not ready to give up on you as you are the living memory of my husband. I fought with them to keep you with me. I won because you were my only goal. Life with you was my only aim. I made you my life, my heartbeat and lived for you. Even now I am living for you but suddenly you forgot all that your mother went through and accused me of being egoistic while all I had in my mind is to give you a better life. May be I was wrong in your view and others view but in my point of view I was right because I was only thinking like a mother.
Unfortunately my daughter didn’t think about me and you took the pleasure in hurting me and then betrayed me in the most cruelest way. Why did you do this with me Sai? Where did I go wrong baby? Didn’t I do everything I could to give you the life you deserve, to give you the life you need? Please tell me Sai, as to where did I go wrong that my own daughter didn’t tell me about her love? This very thought of lacking somewhere in giving you the assurance is killing me. Or is it that you really thought of me as an egoistic and arrogant mother?” Saying so bhuvana looks at her with shock wondering whether she was genuine when she said that. Sai looks at her mother with tears in her eyes and shakes her head in no.
“Then why Sai? What was the reason for your behaviour. Please tell me if you really trust me.” Pleads Bhuvana desperately.
Sai holds her hand in her both hands and says “Mumma, I Love You. Just think that what I expected to happen, didn’t happen instead such a disgusting thing happened that even I am shocked myself. All you should know is I Am your daughter and strong enough to fight anything and anyone. I am doing this because of the pain of betrayal I felt. I will tell you when the right time comes Mumma. Please just trust me Mumma. You don’t know how much I am regretting for the words I used for you and now I don’t want you to be sad anymore. Just give me one chance and when I feel like it’s enough, I will let you know. Trust Me Mumma, you may not feel proud but won’t feel disgusted and ashamed for sure. Trust Me with this Mumma” Sai tells her Mother who nods and hugs her.
“He has used your trust and love against us Mumma. He don’t deserve your trust and love. He used our love Mumma. He used us against eachother to get what he wants and this time he will get the punishment for his deeds. We were innocent Mumma, we were selfless but he ruined everything. Now it’s time for his punishment” Sai thinks angrily while hugging her Mother with tears in her eyes.
Sai breaks the hug, Bhuvana wipes her tears and tearing chapati and dipping it in the curry feeds her. Sai has it and feeds her Mother in return.
Bhuvana after feeding her and washing her hands tells her “I don’t know what’s happening and what you are doing but remember one thing, whatever you do shouldn’t affect your life in a bad way. And I may don’t know anything but I promise to help you in everything. You just have to tell me.” Sai smirks nodding in agreement.
