The episode starts with the family getting ready for temple. Sundaravalli complements Akhila’s beauty. They all leave for temple. On their way, a woman talks to them. The woman asks Sundaravalli if they are going to the temple to celebrate the pongal as family. Sundaravalli replies positively. Then the woman asks Akhila how she’s doing. Akhila is surprised that she recognized her. The woman tells how she will not she has not changed.The woman asks Akila about her sons. Akhila introduces her sons Adhi and Arun.
Then the woman asks looking at Pavathi who she is. Akhila stumbles to answer. Vanaja thinks Akhila shouldn’t tell in front of all that Parvati is her first daughter-in-law, so she tells she’s Adhi wife Parvati. The woman praises the couple and blesses them before leaving.
They reach the temple. They celebrate Pongal. Vanaja, Parvathi and Aishwarya prepare the traditional dish pongal. Vanaja and Aishwarya’s pongal begin to overflow whereas Parvathi’s pongal doesn’t overflow. Parvathi becomes sad. She prays to God for her pongal to overflow else Akhila will think that she did something wrong. Vanaja gets happy on seeing Parvathi’s pongal not overflowing. Akhila goes inside the temple. She prays to God and the vibuthi from the priest. Akhila puts the vibuti in Parvathi’s pongal and it starts overflowing. Parvathi gets delighted. Family gets happy while Vanaja is annoyed.
Vadivel mocks Vanaja asking why she’s not plotting anything against Parvathi. Vanaja tells whatever she does, he will spoil her plan so she doesn’t want to try anything. She walks away. Vanaja sees few children playing with the plant which will cause hitching on the skin. She takes the plant from the kids thinking it will be useful to plot against Parvathi.
A pot breaking game is organized. Vadivel asks Parvathi if she has participated in such games since she’s from village. Parvathi tells she used to get first prize in this game. Everyone asks Parvathi to participate, but she hesitates as Akhila’s may not like it. Everyone assures grandma will handle mom and persuades Akhila to participate.
Parvathi agrees. Vanaja puts the hitching plant leaves in the pot that Parvathi will break. Vadivel and Singaravellen notice this. They send Parvathi away saying grandma called her. Vanaja is called to break the pot. Vanaja tries to escape giving some excuses but Vadivel, Singaravellen and Arun make her play. Vanaja thinks she will deliberately not break the pot. Vanaja goes on the opposite direction. Vadivel and Singaravellen takes the pot near to her and Vanaja breaks the pot. The herbs fall on Vanaja.
