The episode starts with Vanaja spoiling the record player. She is elated about successfully executing her plan and leaves from there. Everyone welcomes Guruji. Guruji asks for Akhila. Purushotaman says she’s getting ready for puja. He asks to verify if all the arrangements for puja have done correctly. Guruji gives a glance at the arrangements and asks who have made puja arrangements. Aishwarya says Parvathi has made. Guruji praises Parvathi.
Akhila comes there. Purushotaman gets elated seeing Akhila wearing the saree bought by him. Akhila and Purushotaman are about to sit in the puja, Guruji stops them. He says to Akhila that it’s preferable to sit in the puja wearing a simple saree, and he adds that it’s fine if she doesn’t have any simple saree. Akhila says that she will send someone to buy one. Guruji refuses since it will delay the puja. Adhi intervenes saying that Parvathi has prepared a simple saree for mom. Guruji asks Adhi to bring that saree. Arun whispers to Aishwarya that mom has choosen dad’s saree, but it seems their ancestors have hoosen Parvathi’s saree. Aishwarya says that she’s happy for Parvathi.
Adhi gives the saree to Guruji. Guruji says that it seems this saree is specially made for the puja. He asks Akhila to change the saree and come. Everyone gets elated while Vanaja fumes. Purushotaman asks Arun to bring the gramophone. Arun comes to the room. He decides to check it once before taking it to the puja room. He gets shocked when the recorder doesn’t play. He tries again and again, but the result is same. He gets tensed and wonders what to do now.
After a while Akhila comes back to the puja room. Parvathi is elated seeing Akhila wearing the saree she made for her. Aishwarya compliments Akhila. Purushotaman phones Arun and asks him to hurry up. Arun comes back. They all ask him where’s the gramophone. Arun says that the recorder isn’t working. Aishwarya asks how it’s possible, it was working when they checked earlier. Arun replies that he doesn’t know. They all become tensed since the puja will not have the full impact without that prayer song. Vanaja smirks. Akhila says that she knows that prayer song, so she will sing it. Guruji alerts her that she shouldn’t stop the song in between, she has to keep singing till the puja end, else it will bring unfortunate for the family. Akhila agrees.
Guruji is performing the puja while Akhila Akhila is singing. Suddenly Akhila begins to cough due to the smoke, yet she manages to keep singing, but her cough is getting worse and she’s unable to sing. They all become tensed and wonders what to do now. They get surprise, when Parvathi starts singing the same prayer song. Vanaja is shocked and wonders how she knows this song. Guruji asks Parvathi to continue singing. The puja comes to the end.
Guruji suggests Akhila perform Sumagli puja in order to get full benefits of today’s puja. He advises her to call 11 married women and bless them. He asks Parvathi to make the puja arrangements for tomorrow morning and takes leave. Akhila asks Parvathi how she knows the prayer song. Sundaram intervenes and says that Parvathi’s mom had heard Akhila singing the prayer song plenty of time and she learned it. She then teached it to Parvathi. Akhila compliments Parvathi’s singing and goes upstairs. All family members praise Parvathi singing while Vanaja looks annoyed.
