By Gossips Tv : Bengali film producer Shyam Sunder Dey has accused television couple Puja Banerjee and Kunal Verma of kidnapping and extortion. The alleged incident took place in Goa earlier this month, where Dey claims he was forcibly confined and extorted for ₹23 lakh.
According to the complaint filed by Dey’s wife Malabika, the filmmaker was intercepted by a black Jaguar while driving in Goa. He alleged that two men forced him out of the vehicle and took him to a villa, where Puja Banerjee — whom he regarded as a sister — was present. He claims he was held there from June 1 to June 4 and not allowed to leave.
Dey said he was repeatedly threatened and pressured to sign property papers. Despite his attempts to reason with the couple, he alleges that he was assaulted and had his phones taken. However, he managed to use a spare phone to send his location and a secret video to his wife, which helped alert the authorities.
Following these serious accusations, both Puja Banerjee and Kunal Verma have now been booked for kidnapping and extortion. The case is currently under investigation, and the entertainment industry has been left in shock by the developments.
