By Gossips Tv : In a significant move, Star Plus, the leading Hindi General Entertainment Channel (GEC), is set to revamp its programming schedule. Starting March 2025, the channel will air its daily soaps only from Monday to Friday, reducing the current daily telecast format.
This decision comes as part of Star Plus’ strategy to prioritize the well-being of its production teams, including writers, actors, and directors, who have been working relentlessly to meet the demands of daily episodes. The change aims to alleviate their workload while maintaining the quality of content.
Popular shows like Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin, Anupama, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, Udne Ki Aasha, Jhanak, Advocate Anjali Awashthi, Maati Se Bandhi Dor, and others will follow the new schedule. Early time slots, however, are reportedly unaffected.
The weekend slots, meanwhile, are expected to be utilized for reality shows and special programming, a trend observed among other GECs. Star Plus seems keen on capitalizing on the growing popularity of reality content, which has seen immense success on rival channels.
While the move is widely appreciated for addressing the industry’s labor concerns, an official confirmation from Star Plus is awaited. Fans eagerly anticipate how this shift will impact their viewing experience and the channel’s TRPs.
