The episode starts with Consort Gwi visiting Do Wager who asks her that why she isn’t interested in sending Ui Seong to take part in the cohort competition. She expresses her wish to see Ui Seong as the Crown Prince as the current is not capable enough to do so. She gives the book for her to prepare. Queen is with Queen Yoon who asks about what happened to the late Crown Prince. Yoon reveals that the Crown Prince didn’t die because of the illness. She says that evil Do Wager even after getting her expelled didn’t let them live a peaceful life. She says that all her sons were killed to secure the throne for her son. She warns he that she could face the same fate as hers scaring the Queen to protect her sons as losing the Throne may result in losing her son’s life. Someone was spying on them. The Queen rushes to her chamber. She asks the maids to continue treating the Crown Prince no matter what. Maidservant asks Do Wager whether she wouldn’t inform the Crown Prince’s condition to the King. She wanted to keep it from him so that when he learns about it, it would create differences between King and the Queen.
Next day all the Consorts prepare their sons according to the book guidelines while some felt really troubled over the menace. Consort Gwi prepared her son exactly as the Crown Prince promising him to return what he lost. Finally, the crown Prince wakes up and the Queen scolds him for hiding about such a big thing from her. The Crown Prince apologized her for troubling her but the Queen comforts him. Next day the Queen called her sons for a meeting and on their way, they met with Crown Prince. They greeted each other and the meeting begins. The Queen says about the cohort and asks her sons to participate who showed no interest. They showed zero co operation which irked her. She starts passing orders and Prince Seong Nam finds her behavior odd. Only Prince Gye Seong came forward to fulfill her wish. They all take their leave while the Queen gets frustrated. Maidservant suggested her to say the truth to them but she’s sure that they would keep checking on Crown Prince which would raise suspicion in everyone’s mind. She decides to first confirm with Master about who’s capable enough to get through the levels.
Queen hurries to meet Master Lee and Ui Seong passes comments seeing her rushing. Prince Gye Seong heard it and warned him to speak about his mother with respect. Ui Seong provoked him more seeing witness and Gye Seong attacks him. He warns to kill him while Ui Seong challenges him to take the throne. Gye Seong makes it clear that it belonged to his brother and wouldn’t keep quite if he snatches it. Queen discusses with Master Lee who says that none of the Prince were qualified to pass the prelims including Gye Seong. He says that Gye Seong may be intelligent but delinquent shocking the Queen. The Queen finds Gye Seong sneaking somewhere and follows him along with Maidservant. They come to a deserted place and both gets shocked seeing something through peep hole. She rushes to her hide out and cries vigorously. Maidservant comforts her while the Queen says that she’s the one who was always with her in her ups and downs.
Mu An and the other Grand Princes except Gye Seong gives their names for cohort. The servant wats to take the list to King but Master asks him to fight as ther’s still time. Quen is worried about what to do but gets up knowing well that her sitting idle won’t do any good. Gye Seong gets summoned by Crown Prince and he goes to him who’s watching his son play. Crown Prince says that his son resembles Gye Seong more and asks him to protect him as his father and friend in future. Gye Seong finds something wrong but Crown Prince refuses to reveal anything. He requests him to become Cohort and be his support system while Gye Seong gets into thinking. He recalls all their moments from their childhood when he was close with the Crown Prince. The Master is about to give away the names but Gye Seong comes at the last minute and enrolls his name. the King gets shocked seeing everyone applied for cohort. He says that though the Crown Prince is well talented but he’s quite upright. He says that he wants someone who molds in all the situations as the cohort.
Queen gets happy knowing that all the Grand Princes gave their name for the cohort and starts making arrangements. Consort Gwi arranges the best arithmetic teacher for her son while In Go In did the same for her son. Queen enquires about the late Crown Prince and learns that he got cured by Lee. She sends people to find missing Lee. In Go gets new about Gyen Seong going somewhere and follows him. In Go also follows him only to find that he’s dressing up as female and gets sock
