Sita gets shocked to know from her Dasi that people badmouths about her and questions her purity. She is heartbroken when the Dasi tells her that they also say that Ram has gotten weak for her love. Another Dasi comes and tells Sita that Lakshman wants to meet her. Sita wipes her tears and smiles.
Sita goes to meet Lakshman who takes her blessings. Sita asks her to sit down but Lakshman refuses. Sita says that he seems angry. Lakshman tells her that it is because Ram said that one of them should take the throne. He is worried and he couldn’t sleep whole the night thinking that he might have made a mistake. He asks Sita what’s disturbing Ram since she must know everything about him. Sita says that it’s not true.
Ram comes there and asks what is going between the two. Sita tells Ram that Lakshman wanted to know the reason behind his worried and she was about to tell him the truth but he came. Ram asks what truth she was about to say. Sita replies that she wanted to tell Lakshman that he, Bharat and Shatrugna are not the reason of Ram’s pain but she is the one since he has to go through so much for a common lady like her. Ram asks who told her that she is a common woman and tells her that he loves her beyond limits so whatever he has done is nothing. Sita says that he wasn’t willing to hurt him.
Ram goes to Lakshman and says that he is crazy to overthink so much since he had only said that one of them should take his place without any particular reason. Lakshman says that he will give up his life if he again repeats something like that. Ram hugs him.
Sita is disturbed and keeps recalling the Dasi’s words about what people talk about her. She prays in front of Mata Lakshmi idol. Sita recalls when she used to pray to get Ram. She says that once she had come to pray to get Ram but today she is asking strength to sacrifice him. She seeks blessings. A flower falls into her hands. She smiles seeing it and considers it as the blessing from Mata Rani.
After a while Sita comes in the room. Ram removes the crown and gives it to her. She places it down. Ram is still worried and Sita understands that. She asks him the reason if he wants to tell since she might help. Ram denies having any such worry. Sita says that it might be a small one but public can’t see him so worried. Ram asks if a king can’t be in pain. Sita says that he can but he should not show it since people get strength from him only. Ram says that it is very difficult. He says that human beings are forced to have poison so many times. Sita says that if you are born as human being you have to bear pain. She adds that human beings have sentiments and a great person is the one who overcome them. Ram asks him what she wants to say. Sita says that it doesn’t suit on the king of Ayodhya to be so worried about a woman. Ram asks what he can do since he couldn’t find her and help her. Sita says that she wasn’t talking about that woman. Ram asks whom them. Sita says that she is talking about herself, the queen of Ayodhya, who has become a stain on the king and the throne. Ram says that the stain is wrong. Sita replies that it is still a stain and kingdom has to remain pure. Ram asks what the solution is then. Sita shocks him saying that he should sacrifice her. Ram is stunned.
Ram asks Sita how Ram can sacrifice Sita. The latter says that she will be the one to sacrifice Ram. He asks why. Sita says that it is because he had told her that she is his friend and as a friend she can’t let any stain stay on him. Ram says that if this is the case then he won’t stay a king anymore but Sita makes him understand that he can’t since after wearing the crown he has left any other duty except the one he has towards the people of his reign.
Ram refuses to do injustice on his innocent wife even at the cost of having the whole world against him. Sita asks him how he can leave the path of dharam being a King. Ram says that also Gurdev said the same but he can sacrifice everything but not Sita. Sita asks him if this is his final decision. Ram replies yes.
Sita takes Ram in front of the statues of his ancestors where he had sworn that he will sacrifice even himself to fulfill his duty as a King. Sita makes him remember about all the sacrifices of his predecessors just to protect the kingdom and fulfill their duty. She says that it’s her duty to do the right thing too. She asks blessings to ancestors and then asks permission to Ram to leave since she has no other way to remove the stain on him. Ram is silent. Sita asks to let her go again crying. Ram is hesitant.
Lakshman gets shocked when he comes to know about Sita’s step. Sita has dressed up with ordinary orange clothes. Ram comes to her. Sita says that they will be separated but still together and will still be able to understand what each other’s heart will feel. She asks Ram what he is thinking about. Ram says that he is wondering what he should do in front of such an injustice. Sita makes him understand that her sacrifice is necessary.
At night, Sita leaves Ayodhya. Ram looks at her leaving painfully. Sita cries too while looking at him.
