By Gossips TV :Television actor Akshay Dev Bindra, remembered by audiences as Raunak Zaveri from Zee TV’s long-running drama Kumkum Bhagya, has finally spoken out about the abrupt end of his character. In an interview with India Forums Akshay revealed shocking details about how he entered the show as one of the leads, only to find his role gradually sidelined by the makers.
The actor shared that initially, he and Pranali Rathod were presented as leads, while Namik Paul joined in as a negative lead. The storyline was first planned as a three-way track where Raunak, Pranali, and Namik’s characters would all be crucial. However, after the wedding of Pranali and Namik’s characters, the focus shifted to their pairing. Akshay explained that his role slipped into revenge mode, but since the chemistry of a couple often takes narrative priority, Raunak’s track slowly faded into the background.
Interestingly, Akshay disclosed that the makers never informed him about the sudden changes. The decision coincided with the launch of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2, which took up the team’s attention, leaving no time to discuss Raunak’s arc.
Despite the unexpected shift, Akshay expressed no bitterness. He maintained that he holds no grudges, values his friendship with Namik Paul, and remains grateful for the experience, saying he is “happy and content” with how things turned out.
