BY ANIL MERANI || Rashami Desai is very kicked about her new Hungama Play web series, Ratri ke Yatri 2 where she plays a sex worker.
“I researched the life of sex workers and saw the hit first season of the series again based on red light areas. I hope season 2 does as well.”
“We have many opinions about sex workers who are looked down upon by society; most of the girls unwillingly sell their bodies, and others have no alternative. There is good and evil in life and this natural way of balancing stuff.”
She refuses to provide one line brief of her story, saying“,Why dont you watch it? Every character has meat, and every dialogue has a message.”
When asked about the intimate scenes, she said, ” A lot depends on the technical team, which made me very comfortable”.
When asked about TV vs the web? she says, “TV will always shine as it shows our culture to the world, including NRI’s. OTT, on the other hand, has lots of exposure and options. Hungama Play makes very bold content but shoots it beautifully.”
Rashami will not mind returning to the tube if she gets a kick-ass role. She has a few more projects(across mediums) up her sleeve ” “but will talk about them only when they release,”
Among all the shows Rashami has done, she regards Ratri Ke Ratri 2 as the best” as I have not done something like this before. I am always only on the lookout for different roles; I have been lucky to work with great directors like Anil V Kumar (Director of Ratri Ke Yatri)
What is the biggest take-home from your long career? “Always accept changes very beautifully so it won’t trouble you.” ended Rashami
