Why Sonam Khan chose Bigg Boss OTT 3 over the prominent Bigg Boss

By Anil Merani: With the Bollywood sex siren of the nineties, Sonam Khan, making an entry in Bigg Boss OTT 3, it will add a lot of spice and masala to this now Anil Kapoor-hosted show

However, as it happens with all new ventures, certain naysayers have a different perspective. They wonder why Sonam, also known as the ‘Oye Oye’ girl, did not directly opt for the prominent Bigg Boss show on Colors. Why did she choose its OTT cousin, which is generally reserved for wannabes and not past glory celebs?

This line of questioning led us to delve deeper, and we are pleased to share some intriguing nuggets of information that we have gathered for your enjoyment.

As per our sources, 51-year-old Sonam did not opt for the main Bigg Boss due to some unresolved issues with none other than BB host Salman Khan. The two were supposed to collaborate on the 1990 film Baghi, but due to certain circumstances, the project did not materialize, and the same movie eventually saw Nagma Khan as the female lead.

This still begets the question, why then opt for Bigg Boss OTT? As per our informed sources, Sonam has been facing challenges in making a successful comeback for over four years now. Despite her efforts, she has not been able to regain her past glory in the industry. So, maybe she decided to take a different route and hopes to win back her laurels through this Jio Cinema show.

Sonam’s personal life has also seen its share of ups and downs. She married director Rajiv Rai in 1991, and they have a son together. However, the couple decided to part ways in 2016, marking the end of their 25-year-long relationship.

For her sake, we hope the Gen Z audience once again showers her with the love and admiration she received back then with films like Tridev, Mitti Aur Sonaa, and Vijay. Sonam is a talented actress who has the potential to shine once more. We believe she deserves her place under the sun and hope that this opportunity in Bigg Boss OTT will pave the way for her successful comeback.
