Shraddha Arya is one of the few TV actors who prefer to stick with an existing show instead of jumping ship midway for greener pastures elsewhere.
Shraddha, too, could have joined her Kundali Bhagya co-star Dheeraj Dhooper; the latter quit after five years for the new Colors TV show Sherdil Shergil.
He is not wrong. It gets creatively stifling, repeatedly playing the same character, with the writers exhausting all scope for the character. And above all, TV does not allow the main lead to cross the line.
So Shraddha, too, must have faced the same problem as her co-star, but she has decided to stick with Balaji.
Shraddha found her TV calling with Main Lakshmi Tere Aangan Ki. She cemented her position with Dream Girl – Ek Ladki Deewani Si before breaking through with Kudali Bhagya as physiotherapist Dr Preeta.
We wonder if the makers offered her some carrots to stay on. Hope Zee TV allows her the liberty to do other channel non-fiction alongside to satisfy her creative yearnings.
Also, loyalty to Balaji Telefilms can prove hugely beneficial. Producer Ekta Kapoor also casts her tv show actors in her films and web series. Shraddha, who began as a south film actor, would also love to return to Hindi cinema(Nishabd).
Had Shraddha quit, the brand Kundali Bhagya would have taken an enormous hit; it somehow did weather Dheeraj’s( Karan) exit. But the absence of both leads would have been a bit too much. The tv audience gets hooked on faces rather than characters.
We hope her on-screen chem with a new male lead Shakti Arora gets similar love as Karan Preeta jodi.
