By Anil Merani: Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin is back to ait former glory, #2 only behind Anupamaa. It had ceded the number 2 & 3 slots to fellow Star Plus shows like Jhanak and Udne Ki Aasha for a while.
The fall was never a matter of worry, for the drop was just 0.2 TVR, which is no big deal, but some jealous fans tried to make a song and dance about it, asking if this signals the downfall of Ghum.
However, you can only put a good guy down for a short time, and the perfect story, execution, and good acting have meant that Ghum is back to its former glory!
There is no significant difference (0.2) between Ghum and Anupamaa, and one strong track could mean Cockcrow and Shaika Entertainment can dethrone DKP like they have done occasionally but have not been able to sustain.
Will the recent cast change in Anupamaa make it lose its way a bit? This may give Ghum a slight advantage.
All said and done, Star continues to be happy, for it controls most top fiction slots; Anjali Awasthi has opened well.
With ‘Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin’ sustaining a 45-minute slot, the show will have a lot of creative freedom once it reverts to its original 30-minute slot. This potential can be harnessed to push the show ahead.
I love the current Ghum track. Bhavika Sharma and Hitesh Bhardawaj are doing a swell job. The supporting cast is equally good.
