By Anil Merani: Will the just-released web film Visfot (Jio Cinema) mark the resurgence of Krystal Dsouza, who had been out of circulation for a while.
However, there has not been much noise around this Kookie Gulati effort, which stars Riteish Deshmukh and Fardeen Khan. Priya Bapat and Krysal completed the supporting cast. These days, many films that don’t have much of a theatrical chance get dropped online to recover costs.
Krystal did an excellent job in Visfot and was noticed for her bit.
The best part of online is that things can still pick up, and we hope that the numbers perk up and Krystal gets a second go at things.
She would have hoped that Visfot would open film vistas for her. Several TV gals have found happier hunting grounds in cinema before Krystal.
Krystal has had more than necessary breaks so the audience can forget her saas-bahu avtaar. Her last fiction TV outing was Pinjara Khubsurti Ka back in 2020.
Interestingly, Krystal has also done much stand-alone OTT (Fitrat)! We wonder why she was not getting juicy enough assignments or why the character was too bold for her liking.
Her prior cine outing Chehre with Amitabh Bachchan was again nothing to write home about. That flop must have hit her hard.
With Visfot not meeting the expected success Krystal returing to television, a platform that has always welcomed her with open arms, is a hopeful prospect. Her past shows, such as Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai, Brahmarakshas and Belan Wali Bahu, have been well-received, and a return could be a promising move for her career.
