By Anil Merani: Tanvi Thakkar, who had just made a post-pregnancy comeback with the Star Plus show, Deewaniyat, replacing her bestie Vahbbiz Dorabjee, must be taken aback by the sudden news of the show’s shutdown due to budgetary constraints.
According to the source, Vahbbiz was unwilling to give many days to the Deweenaniyat makers Cockcrow Entertainment Shaika Films, for she had other commitments. This impasse was particularly tough for the track revolving around Vijayendra Kumeria, Kritika Singh Yadav, and Vahbbiz.
In a bind, Cockcrow quietly started auditioning other actors for the role, and Tanvi was sounded out for the same.
Vahbbiz is upset that Tanvi did not reach out before signing the contract. However, as per the source, Tanvi tried to reach out to Vahbbiz once, but the latter did not take the call. Ideally, Tanvi should have left her besti a message, but she did not.
Our source added that time was not the only complaint against Vahbbiz, but the PH was not happy with her acting and hence was replaced.
The sources further said it is common practice for actors to be kept out of the loop when on the cusp of being replaced lest they stop coming for work before the replacement is locked.
Further, our source adds that Tanvi had requested the production hours to accommodate her husband, Aditya Kapadia, in the post-leap Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin We have no information on whether the request was accepted. Aditya was last seen in a significant Hindi outing, Trideviyaan, back in 2019.
Tanvi must have felt shortchanged, as she had barely joined the show, and it had ended. This situation might also have some effect on her equation with Vahbiz, given the circumstances of her replacement.
